(0h 1m) The open class is drawn from teachings on the Focus of the month, supported by flowing vinyasa sequences, chanting,hands on adjustment,relaxation, meditation,breath awareness and alignment focus. The class is taught using the 14 points of the method and has a musical soundtrack designed by the teacher that can include George Harrison, Sting and Krishna Das It is helpful to have a knowledge of Basics for the class. Class pass or drop in available.

Yin/ Restorative yoga

(0h 1m) A yin/ yang class with slow passive poses, attendtion to breathing and a meditational theme used to support the practice. Followed by restorative poses that calm, heal the mind. Use of equipment is key in this practice. It is helpful to bring a cushion, blanket, bolster, eye pillow to the class. This class has a new time from September 2012 at 6.30pm and is a perfect class before the Meditation class. Class pass or drop in available. Suitable for all levels.

(0h 30m) A donation class suitable for all levels following a 3 step plan to meditation- choose a seat, Be still and focus on the breath. The class will begin and end with mantra and the seated time will be about 20 minutes. All monies will support Santoshayoga charities and their continued work. Class will start in September 2012. No experience of meditation is required.

Santosha yoga is dedicated to offering quality yoga classes to suit all levels of practice. To be able to attend one of the following classes below please fill out the health form by clicking HERE along with the appropriate booking form for course level 1 classes and bring it with you to the class.
Please arrive 15 minutes before the start time to discuss any medical concerns or injuries you may have with the teacher. Santosha yoga has the right to refuse admission to the class if a health form and disclaimer has not been completed.

Class information
All yoga classes are taught with integrity and the student interest at the heart of the teachings. Classes may include music, Sanskrit chanting, hands on adjustments, postural alignment details, massage in Jivamukti classes and teachings on diet - encouraging a yoga practice both on and off the yoga mat. Some venues have option for outside yoga in the warm weather.
VENUES
Each of the venues used for classes provide a heated room with ample car parking in secured environments in and around the Peterborough area. Outside yoga classes in the summer months at all venues.
CLASSES
Level 1 courses
These courses provide a supportive and encouraging atmosphere to develop a yoga practice. A theme is discussed and explored over 12 weeks with relevant handouts and home practice tips. Suitable for beginners, student teachers of BWY and students looking for in depth study. Classes include structure of asana, chanting, pranayama, relaxation, meditation and philosophy.
Jivamukti
Basics / Open / beginner vinyasa all classes develop the 5 tenants of Jivamukti yoga and are for the beginner to advanced student. Andrea is an Advanced certified teacher of the method.
Yin Yoga
Holding passive poses that are floor based alongside a yang practice, this is an ideal class for students who want to move slower and uses props to develop the practice. Philosophy is included in the classes.
Restorative yoga
To relax and renew the body and mind, staying in the postures with focus and awareness- a perfect practice for beginners to learn about relaxation and healing. Props are used throughout- bolsters, eye bandages are supplied for the class. Please bring mat, blankets, cushions and eye pillows with you.
Meditation
No experience is required for learning about the mind. Just come and sit and be.
